By car, Trento can be reached via the A22 Brennero-Modena motorway, which is connected with the A1 Milan-Naples and the A4 Milan-Venice. There are two motorway tollbooths: Trento sud and Trento nord, while the Trento centro tollbooth is open but only for entry.

Welcome to Trento, the capital of Trentino-Alto Adige and a city of 117,000 inhabitants.
Trento is a city founded on history, culture and nature.
The history is that of a flourishing city, a meeting point between the Mediterranean and continental worlds and which hosted the Ecumenical Council. Culture is kept alive by the presence of the University, the Museum of Natural Sciences, the Buonconsiglio Castle and the many historical sites and museums to visit. Nature surrounds the city with imposing mountains, urban parks and the Sardagna waterfall.

The city offers numerous sites to visit. Piazza Duomo with the Neptune Fountain and Trento Cathedral are flanked by Palazzo Pretorio and frescoed houses. Via Belenzani houses numerous frescoed palaces, such as Palazzo Alberti Colico, Palazzo Thun and Palazzo Geremia.

The Buonconsiglio Castle, for centuries the seat of the prince-bishops of Trento, houses art and archaeology collections and temporary exhibitions. The walls of the Torre dell’Aquila contain the Cycle of the Months.

The ‘Le Albere’ district about 10 minutes from the city centre, designed by architect Renzo Piano, houses the Muse, a natural science museum. In the Piedicastello district, one can visit the ‘Gallerie di Piedicastello’, two former road tunnels converted into a space dedicated to history and memory. If you take the cable car to Sardagna, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the city.
